The International Leadership Academy is a dynamic and innovative centre of professional learning and development. Working in partnership with world-renowned organisations, we design impactful programmes specifically for international school staff. Based in The Hague, in the heart of Europe, we offer a comprehensive range of programmes covering four key strands. Together we are rethinking education for 21st century schools.
The International Leadership Academy is delighted and honoured to be shortlisted for an International School Awards in the International Impact category. This nomination reflects the International Leadership Academy’s commitment to developing the international school workforce through the collaborative design and delivery of high-quality continued professional development.
“We launched the ILA on 1st May 2017 with an intention of creating a world-class, not-for-profit, centre of professional learning and development for the international school workforce. This centre develops partnerships to co-design research-informed and evidence-based programmes specifically for international schools, working with over 600 staff every year.
At no time in the history of international education have we needed as many teachers, as many support staff and as many school leaders as we need today and for the future. Building, supporting and strengthening our community and global capacity must be a professional responsibility held by all. I am personally so pleased that the collaborative endeavour of the ILA is being recognised in this way and we are looking forward to the awards ceremony and the ongoing opportunities that 2019 will afford us all.” Liz Free, Director International Leadership Academy.
The International School Awards (ISA) celebrate learning, teaching, community, pastoral care, leadership and strategic initiatives at international schools. They provide the opportunity for international schools to share best practice, creative endeavours, community participation and innovation. The ISAs are hosted by International School Leader Magazine with the support of ISC Research and are sponsored by Pearson.
Senior leaders from the International Leadership Academy, The British School in the Netherlands, will attend the awards ceremony on 21 January 2019 at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, London.
We are delighted to announce the launch of the International Leadership Academy (ILA) International Professional Qualifications (iNPQ’s). This unique and prestigious iNPQ series will offer world-class research and evidenced based programmes of certification specifically for international school staff.
Starting in November 2018, the first programmes offered will be the iNPQ Middle Leadership (iNPQML) and iNPQ Senior Leadership (iNPQSL). These iNPQ’s are unique as they bring the National Professional Qualification (NPQ) from UCL, as an accredited provider with the Department for Education in the UK, in combination with an international school bias that runs throughout the programmes to firmly weave the ‘i’ for international throughout. Run by experienced ILA facilitators and current school leaders, this programme is quality assured, externally certified and developed specifically for international school leaders.
Liz free, Director of the ILA, “We are committed to supporting and developing the international school staff community. There has long been a lack of purposefully designed professional learning and development for the growing international schools market. The development of iNPQ’s will enable us to co-design impactful programmes with world-leading partners, that serve our global community as we strive for global education excellence.”
Kieran Earley, CEO and Principal of the BSN, “NPQ programmes are a Gold Standard for educational leadership; in internationalising the offer we are providing a unique framework for existing and aspirant leaders.”
